Wolves Basketball at the Ben Weider Campus is one of the Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA’s longest-running programs. Our recreational teams start at Grade 1; competitive teams run from grade 4 through CEGEP.
Wolves are a major force in the Intercity League. Most recently, our Bantam Boys won the 2013 championships, and our Juvenile Boys won the 2012 City Championship. Intercity Wolves Players have the opportunity to play at least 20 games in a season, including regular, exhibition and tournament games.
Being on a Y basketball team is a profound learning experience. In our program, kids build pride, confidence, a healthy lifestyle, exposure to a wider community, and the experience of pushing your limits as you work towards a common goal.
We offer a unique grade 4 – 6 girls basketball program run by female instructors. The athlete/instructor ratio is unusually low, ensuring each girl gets the hands-on coaching she needs. The girls develop confidence and assertiveness, in addition to becoming exceptional ball players. There is no other program like it in Montreal. The program feeds our competitive league, and many former players go on to play at the University level.
