Summer 2008 will see a new Reinitz Wrestling Centre located on the beautiful grounds of the Harry Bronfman Y Country Camp.
Thanks to the generosity of Eleanor and Geroge Reinitz, construction has begun up at camp. For the last two summers, world class wrestlers who train at the Ben Weider JCC Reinitz Wrestling Centre, have come up to the camp once a week to conduct Olympic style wrestling clinics with boys and girls of all ages.
Former World Gold Medalist Gia Sissaouri and Silver Medal winner Martine Dugrenier were part of the team of instructors who visited the camp. At YCC, these fine wrestlers incorporate the finer points of Olympic style wrestling with fun games and activities that help the campers learn to enjoy and appreciate this amazing sport. The kids learn agility, balance and self-discipline, along withthe value of respecting the other person.
We are especially excited that in 2008, the program will become a full-time specialty. A very special thank you to Eleanor and George Renitiz for their incredible support, and Victor Zylberman, the world class wrestling coach who oversees our program.
