Description:

The Kids on the Block Puppet Troupe heightens children's awareness and understanding of what being disabled is really like. They perform using near life-size puppets at various schools around Montreal. Kids on the Block is funded by Federation CJA and is presented as a community service program at the YM-YWHA. Performers are students from St.George's High School and Herzliah High School (St.Laurent).

Long Description: The Marlene and Joel King Special Needs Department is a co-operative effort by the YM-YWHA and the Miriam Home to develop and deliver leisure and recreational services to children, youth and adults with special needs and to include them in life at the "Y". Participants registered in special needs groups are charged a membership fee of $45. Youth programs are affiliated with the Bronfman Jewish Education Council of Greater Montreal.
