Description: This new and exciting program is being sponsored by the Y Cyclothon and is based on the idea that recreation is for everyone and that everyone belongs here at the Y. Using 1:1 specialized support services, trained and qualified leisure buddies will accompany and assist individual Y members with disabilities in using the athletic and fitness services and facilities offered at the Y. Many programs offered at the Y are open to participants with disabilities. To help you to find the appropriate program and to determine support needed in your program of choice, contact the special needs department.
Long Description: The Marlene and Joel King Special Needs Department is a co-operative effort by the YM-YWHA and the Miriam Home to develop and deliver leisure and recreational services to children, youth and adults with special needs and to include them in life at the "Y". Participants registered in special needs groups are charged a membership fee of $45. Youth programs are affiliated with the Bronfman Jewish Education Council of Greater Montreal.
