Description: Enjoy 17 Sundays a year through the fall, winter and spring months to participate in activities within the community. Come discover the city and its events. Participants branch off into groups of up to six, with two co-ordinators assigned to each group, to discuss options for the day's activities. These activities provide an opportunity to interact, engage in planning the day's events, experience and develop safety habits on public transportation, learn and practise socially appropriate behaviour and, of course, to have fun.
Long Description: The Marlene and Joel King Special Needs Department is a co-operative effort by the YM-YWHA and the Miriam Home to develop and deliver leisure and recreational services to children, youth and adults with special needs and to include them in life at the "Y". Participants registered in special needs groups are charged a membership fee of $45. Youth programs are affiliated with the Bronfman Jewish Education Council of Greater Montreal.
