Description: Three evenings a week over a 47-week period, 75 participants take part in an array of activities including a video club, art & crafts, dancing, listening to music, karaoke, visits from a rabbi, discussion groups and holiday parties. Participants also help prepare and serve a communal supper.
Long Description: The Marlene and Joel King Special Needs Department is a co-operative effort by the YM-YWHA and the Miriam Home to develop and deliver leisure and recreational services to children, youth and adults with special needs and to include them in life at the "Y". Participants registered in special needs groups are charged a membership fee of $45. Youth programs are affiliated with the Bronfman Jewish Education Council of Greater Montreal.
