David Wallach

David grew up in Toronto, graduating from York University with B.A. in Jewish studies and a B.Ed. in Jewish Education. After getting married in Toronto, he and his wife, a Montreal native, moved to Israel where he completed his Masters of Jewish Education through the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies.

David has worked in various settings with students and campers from grade 1 through high school, CEGEP, university and young professionals. He has worked in creating Jewish programming at overnight and day camps in Montreal, and curriculum for gap yearprograms in Israel. He has spent summers working at Camp Massad, and Camp Ilan, directing the latter for 2 years.

When he’s not in Camp, David teaches Jewish Studies at Herzliah High School. David can’t wait to be directing Y City Camp this summer, and meeting all of you!

Sydney Shapiro
Sydney ShapiroAssociate Director of Inclusion Camp
Sydney has an undergraduate degree with a specialization in psychology and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Education. She has a passion for working with children and adults with special needs and is especially interested in creating inclusive programming and educational experiences that are to be best adapted to each individual’s needs. While not at camp, Sydney works at an elementary school helping students from kindergarten to grade 6 to develop their social-emotional skills. Sydney is excited to meet all the campers, and to promote a fun, safe and inclusive camp environment!
Deanna Little
Deanna LittleCoordinator of Inclusion Services
Deanna​, our Coordinator of Inclusion Services, brings over 10 years of experience in the field of special needs education, services and programming to our Y City Camp.  She is passionate about providing meaningful inclusion opportunities and works tirelessly to ensure that all are welcome.  While not at camp, Deanna is enjoying the great outdoors and tries to go running, hiking and camping as much as possible. She is excited to be working with families at this year’s camp to ensure that campers of all abilities get the most out of their experience this summer!
