Re-Opening Phase 1 – March 26, 2021

  • At this time memberships are still suspended.
  • Pay As You Go, $12 per visit (tax and parking included)
  • $10 ages 14 and under.
  • Chai Package: 18 visits for $162 (tax and parking included). A savings of 25% per visit. This package is non-refundable.​
  • Chai Package for ages 14 and younger: 18 visits for $142​
  • Reservations will be open as of March 23, 2021.
  • In Phase 1, we will reopen our fitness facilities only.
  • Private and Semi-Private Training will be offered during our 4-hour opening blocks and Individual Guided Training (IGT) will be offered as one-hour sessions. For detailed information please see here.
  • All classes and the pool will remain closed until further notice. We’d like to hear from you! If you’d like the pool to re-open please click here to let us know when you would use it.
  • Locker rooms will be closed.
  • Come dressed ready to exercise.
  • Please arrive within your 15-minute window.
  • You are welcome to stay as long as you like while we are open (check closure times below).
  • Note that basketball net usage is limited to 60 minutes per person.
  • You may cancel and receive a full refund up to 8 hours before your reservation.
  • We encourage you to leave your outerwear, boots and personal items in your locked car.*

Through the pandemic we have, and will continue, to serve the community as best we can with the resources that we have available. Unfortunately, given the tremendous decline in our revenues, certain activities are beyond our capabilities at this time. Notice to Members Regarding Re-Opening

We are very excited to welcome you all back to your beloved and renovated Y on our projected opening date of September 30, 2020.

In these difficult times, Community is more important than ever. Your Y is so much more than a fitness facility — it is a place where lifelong friendships are made, where everyone is welcome, where we perpetuate our history, our values and our culture, and where we ensure that our Community remains vibrant for generations to come. Your financial support, through your membership or donation, is essential and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support.

It is thanks to your loyalty and generosity that we have been able to provide you with such a wide variety of on-line and outdoor options during our closure, keep our Y family together, healthy and engaged, continue to service our special needs clients, and carry on with our BBYO and Diller teen leadership programs.

As we approach the big day, we wanted to share some information about the renewal process and about how we will be processing your credit in the event that you have not chosen to donate your dues.

Credits and Donations

On September 30th all credits and donations will cease and membership charges will resume.

Donations:
Those who have so generously chosen to donate their membership dues will receive a tax-deductible receipt for the full amount donated between March 14 and September 30, 2020.

Credits:
Those who have supported us by continuing to pay their membership dues during our closure, but did not donate them, may still choose to do so by contacting accountsreceivable@ymywha.com.​ The pandemic has had an enormous financial impact on the Y, and to the extent that you are able to do so, we would be incredibly grateful if you were to decide to convert your credit into a tax-receiptable donation.

If you prefer to avail yourself of the credit that you have accumulated for payments made between March 14 and September 30, 2020, it will be applied to the balance of your membership, as and from September 30th, and will be prorated against your monthly dues. If your credit exceeds the amount remaining due on your membership contract, any remaining balance will be applied towards your renewal.

Membership Renewal

Please note that as of November 1, 2020 our monthly fees will be increasing. Any credit remaining on your account for payments made between March 14 and September 30th, 2020 will be prorated against the cost of your renewed membership.

Expired Memberships:
Renewal prior to October 31, 2020: If your membership has expired, and you renew you will be frozen at the current rate and the initiation fee will be waived. To take advantage of this limited-time offer and benefit from a lower monthly rate, please contact membership@ymywha.com as soon as possible.

If you renew after October 31, 2020, you will pay the increased rate and an initiation fee.

Current Memberships:
If your membership has not yet expired, you can still take advantage of the rate freeze for a 12-month period if you extend your membership prior to October 31, 2020. In this case, we will cancel your membership effective Oct. 31 and renew it effective Nov 1 for an additional 12- month period at the current rate. New On-Demand Digital Fitness Platform

We are very excited to be introducing a new on-demand digital fitness platform which will give you access to hundreds of professionally recorded exercise videos from a variety of well-known sources such as Beachbody, Strong by Zumba, Boxx and Cyberobics, which you can access on-demand through our website. This digital platform will be included with your membership at no cost until your membership expires or on July 31, 2021, whichever comes first.

If You are not Ready to Come Back to the Y:
We recognize that some of you are not comfortable returning to the Y at this time. We understand your concerns and want to be sure that you have options for staying healthy and fit:
You can:

• Renew your membership, donate your dues, receive access to our on-demand digital platform, and receive a tax receipt for the portion of your dues that exceeds $25 (the value of a digital-only membership). This option allows you to stay fit at home while still supporting the Y.

• Become a digital-only member for $25/month.

• Continue to support your Y by becoming a governor by contacting smalka@ymywha.com

Pool Update

In preparation for re-opening, the pool area has undergone a deep clean. All necessary repairs have been made, such as the pool’s balance tank and all light fixtures.

A new pool schedule that respects social distancing guidelines is being created. Proper cleaning and disinfecting protocols will be put in place as well, to allow for a safe re-opening.

Re-Opening Update

We hope that you are enjoying your summer. We know that you are eager to return to the Y, and we want to provide you with an update on our plans.

As a community center, the health, safety and comfort of our members and staff will always come first. Because the ongoing EXCELLENCE 2020 construction project limits access to our facility through narrow passageways and hoarding corridors which do not allow for proper social distancing, safe circulation through the building is not currently possible. We have therefore moved our group fitness program outdoors, where there is ample space to exercise safely. Over the coming weeks, we will be expanding our outdoor offering, including a basketball training program for kids aged 7 and up, and Small Group Training courses with sanitized and individualized equipment for each participant.

We encourage you to take advantage of these programs, and doing so will not affect the credit that you will receive on the membership dues that you continue to pay while our facility remains closed.

The great news is that our state-of-the-art functional fitness facility and brand new group fitness studios should be ready as soon as the weather requires us to return indoors, and we are very excited to welcome you back to these large, modern, wide-open spaces early this fall. We will provide further updates as we get closer to the end of our project.

HallwayWelcome Center

We are busy planning every detail of our re-opening, and we are happy to share some of the steps that we have already taken to ensure a safe and comfortable return to the gym.

We have purchased 5 Victory-branded electrostatic sprayers. These best-in-class professional-grade sprayers have received the 2020 Sanitary Maintenance Distributor Choice Award and provide superior professional disinfection of all surfaces. These sprayers will allow us to clean the facility thoroughly, at regular intervals, with very little downtime so that every surface you touch remains clean and virus free. You will also have access to an ample supply of disinfecting products to wipe down surfaces yourself to ensure your peace of mind.
Plexiglass dividers will be installed between each of our cardio machines, while other equipment will be spaced at least 6 feet apart, allowing you to work out as hard as you choose without worry.

We have also purchased wash basins, hand-sanitizer stations and PPE items, such as masks, visors and thermometers and have established protocols and procedures which respect or surpass all government rules, regulations and guidelines.

Notice To Members Regarding Re-Opening

Like you, we are excited and encouraged by the government’s announcement regarding the re-opening of fitness facilities beginning this week. We know that life just hasn’t been the same without the warmth, the friendship and the laughs that are at the heart of the Y health and wellness experience.

However, although we have missed you as much as you have missed us, and are anxious to have you back as soon as possible, your safety, comfort and enjoyment are our number one priority.

As a community center, we put people above the bottom line, and we feel strongly that it is in the best interest of our members that we take the time to do things right, rather than rush to be amongst the first to open. Your well-being is simply too important to us.

We are hard at work getting ready for your safe return and will keep you updated on our progress. In the meantime, we will continue to provide you with a large variety of virtual workout options, online family activities, and special needs programming. We will also be expanding our offering of outdoor classes and activities so that you can stay fit, have fun, and reconnect with your Y community (register here).

We are also proceeding full steam ahead on our Excellence 2020 renovation project with a view to opening our 13,500 sq. ft. state of the art multi-functional fitness area as soon as possible. This brand-new, wide-open space will not only provide an ultra-modern fitness experience that is beyond compare, it will allow you to have all the space that you need to work out with total peace of mind.

Please rest assured that while our facility remains closed, the membership dues that you continue to pay will be credited to your account when we reopen our doors.

Tax Receipt Available – Help Keep our Community Connected and Strong

We are so grateful to all of our members who are supporting us by continuing to pay their monthly membership fees.* However, in case you were not aware, there is another option for showing your support.

If you are in a position to help, you can donate your dues and receive a tax receipt for the full amount paid.

Your donation will help kids with special needs and their families stay connected and will allow us to continue keeping our community together through virtual fitness classes and other programs. It will also allow us to open stronger than ever when we are given the green light to do so.

LOCKER CONTENTS PICK UP PROCEDURE

We have set up a procedure should you choose to pick-up your belongings that have been left in your lockers. Please rest-assured that all of your belongings are being kept safe on site until we reopen.

Pick up dates will be as follows:
  • Tuesday, June 16th:  9am – 12pm
  • Wednesday, June 17th: 12pm – 3pm
  • Thursday, June 18th:  9am – 1pm
Please note the following instructions that must be followed before and upon pick-up:
  • An appointment is required. Only those with an appointment will be given access into the building.
  • ​Appointment sign-up is available by clicking the button below.
  • If you have a fever or are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, entry into the building will be denied.
  • ​Each appointment will last 10 minutes maximum, so please respect the time.
  • ​Entry into the Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA building will be made available through 5515 Mountain Sights.
  • ​Wearing PPE: a mask and gloves are mandatory.
  • ​A hand sanitizing station will be available at the entry an​d the sanitizing of hands is mandatory.
  • Proper footwear is mandatory (no open toe shoes) given the current construction.
  • Government-required Physical Distancing protocol must be followed at all times when in the building.
  • Please bring your own bag to collect your belongings.

Please keep in mind that picking-up your belongings is not mandatory, but optional. If you are able to hold off, we encourage you to wait until we are officially open.

Your well-being, health and safety is of utmost importance to us.

We have been diligently monitoring the evolution of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, which the World Health Organization has classified as a pandemic. For clarity, defining COVID-19 as a pandemic is merely highlighting its probability for spreading worldwide and not the potency or mortality rate of the virus.
